GovWorx is proud to welcome Tipi Brookins as Chief of Public Safety Engagement, bringing more than twenty-four years of experience in Public Safety Communications, emergency response, and agency leadership.
Tipi began her career as a 9-1-1 Call Taker, Dispatcher, and Supervisor, building a strong operational foundation that continues to inform her leadership approach. She later served in senior roles at the District of Columbia Office of Unified Communications (OUC), including Chief of the Office of Professional Standards and Development and Chief of Staff, where she supported training, quality assurance, and organizational strategy. She also managed critical information systems as Teletype Unit Manager for the DC Metropolitan Police Department.
A respected industry leader, Tipi holds the NENA Center Manager Certification Program (CMCP) and APCO Registered Public Safety Leader (RPL) certifications and served as Chair of the Training Subcommittee for the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments from 2022 to 2024.
At GovWorx, Tipi will focus on connecting public safety agencies with tools, insights, and strategies that support the full career and performance of emergency communications professionals. Tipi’s appointment underscores GovWorx’s belief that meaningful innovation in public safety must be driven by leaders who understand the realities of the job and maintain deep, ongoing connections to the professionals on the front lines. Her leadership reinforces GovWorx’s mission to elevate quality, training, and engagement across the industry.
