A conversation series created to support the people behind emergency communications
GovWorx is proud to introduce Level Up with Tipi, a new monthly vlog series designed to bring thoughtful, experience-driven conversations to the emergency communications community.
Level Up with Tipi brings together respected voices from across 9-1-1 to share perspectives on performance, wellness, quality, and the evolving realities of emergency communications work. The series is intentionally grounded in shared experience, creating space for reflection, connection, and learning without judgment or assumptions about where agencies are today.
Hosted by Tipi Brookins, GovWorx’s Chief of Public Safety Engagement, the series centers on open dialogue informed by real-world leadership and frontline experience. Each episode features conversations with industry professionals who understand the complexity of the work and the importance of supporting strong teams through change, pressure, and growth.
“Emergency communications is constantly evolving,” said Brookins. “This series is about listening, learning from one another, and supporting the people doing this work, recognizing what’s already working while exploring how agencies adapt and sustain themselves over time.”

With more than twenty-four years of experience in public safety communications, emergency response, and agency leadership, Brookins brings deep credibility and perspective to each conversation. She began her career as a 9-1-1 Call Taker, Dispatcher, and Supervisor and later served in senior leadership roles at the District of Columbia Office of Unified Communications and the DC Metropolitan Police Department. She holds NENA’s Center Manager Certification Program (CMCP) and APCO’s Registered Public Safety Leader (RPL) credentials and has supported regional initiatives focused on quality and professional development.
At GovWorx, Brookins helps bridge the gap between leadership, technology, and the professionals on the front lines, reinforcing the belief that meaningful progress in public safety is guided by people who understand the realities of the job.
